New Pomegranate Extract

PLT is now offering POM40p, a standardized pomegranate extract with minimum 40% punicosides (polyphenols belonging to the punicalagins group), which are claimed to be the most powerful antioxidants in pomegranate. POM40p was developed in collaboration with a Canary Islands-based research company called Polinat SL. According to P.L. Thomas, POM40p’s advantage over competitive pomegranate products is that POM40p is standardized to the water-soluble punicalagins and has the exact ratio of phytochemical markers as occur in pomegranate juice, which is distinctly different from the solvent extracted ellagic acid available in other products.
